How long does the XCAM Nano battery last?
Up to 45 days in sleep mode, where the camera powers down between viewing sessions. Note that motion-detection alerts require sleep mode to be turned off, and with it off you get continuous-use runtime rather than weeks. The battery is 960mAh.
How big is the XCAM Nano?
35 × 35 × 40 mm and 39g — smaller than a golf ball, small enough to sit on a shelf unnoticed.
Will it alert me when my pet walks past?
Yes. The Nano detects movement in the frame and does not tell people apart from pets. If you have pets, point the camera away from their usual routes or lower the motion sensitivity in the app to cut down on alerts.
What storage does it support?
microSD up to 32GB, which holds roughly a day of continuous 1080P or considerably longer with motion-triggered recording.
Where is the footage saved?
Scheduled and motion-triggered recordings are written to the microSD card in the camera. You can also tap record or snapshot on the app's live view, and those clips and stills save to your phone.
Does this camera need a subscription?
No. It records locally to a microSD card, so there is no monthly fee and no cloud plan required to record or play back footage.
Can it record while charging?
Yes. It runs on USB power while recording, so you can use it as a permanently powered camera or unplug it and rely on the battery.
Is it legal to use this camera?
Monitoring your own home, property or business is legal in most countries. Recording people where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy is not, and audio recording carries additional restrictions in many places. Check the rules that apply where you live.
