Welcome
Thanks for choosing the XCAM Air
This guide takes you from unboxing to watching live on your phone, then explains recording, sharing and the settings you are most likely to need.
Before you start, you'll need
- A smartphone (iPhone or Android).
- A 2.4GHz WiFi network and its password. 5GHz WiFi is not supported.
- Optional: a microSD card up to 256GB so the camera can record by itself. Cards are sold separately.
Charge it first. Plug the camera into a 5V USB charger for 20 to 30 minutes before first use. The orange light goes out when the battery is full.

Buttons, lights & charging
Buttons
| To… | Do this |
|---|---|
| Switch on | Press and hold the power button for a few seconds. The red light stays on and the blue light flashes slowly. |
| Switch off | Press and hold the power button for a few seconds. Stop any recording in the app first (Recording & storage). |
| Factory reset | With the camera switched on, press and hold the reset button for a few seconds. The light flashes once and the camera returns to its factory settings. If the reset button is behind a pinhole, use a card pin. |
What the lights mean
| Light | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Red on + blue flashing slowly | Ready to set up. The camera is on and waiting to be added in the app. |
| Orange on | Charging. It goes out when the battery is full. |
You can switch the indicator lights off from the live view (The live view).
Charging
- Use the USB-C cable supplied and a standard 5V / 1A USB charger. Do not use a charger that outputs more than 5V.
- A full charge takes about 2.5 hours and gives about 2.5 hours of continuous recording.
- The camera keeps working while it charges, so you can leave it on USB power for all-day recording.
- It is normal for the camera to feel warm while it is running.
Section 3
Install the app
Install iWFCam
- iPhone: search for iWFCam in the App Store.
- Android: scan the QR code on the leaflet in the box with your phone's browser and choose "Download Android APK".
Allow the permissions it asks for
When iWFCam opens for the first time, tap Allow on every prompt. The app needs each one to find and set up the camera:
| Prompt | Choose |
|---|---|
| Notifications | Allow |
| Find devices on local networks | Allow |
| Use wireless data | WLAN & Cellular |
| Bluetooth | Allow |
| Location | Allow While Using App (used to read your WiFi name) |
Keep everything close during setup. Your phone, your WiFi router and the camera should be within 3 metres of each other until the camera is online. Only 2.4GHz WiFi is supported.
There are two ways to connect the camera. Bluetooth (Connect with Bluetooth (recommended)) is the quickest. Use hotspot (Connect with the camera's hotspot) if Bluetooth doesn't find it.
Section 4
Connect with Bluetooth (recommended)
- Switch the camera on and reset it to factory settings (Buttons, lights & charging).
- Turn on your phone's Bluetooth.
- Open iWFCam and tap + in the top right. Allow Bluetooth access if asked.
- Tap Discover a new device and configure it to connect to the WiFi. Your camera's ID (IPC-…) is shown on this line.
- Allow location access if asked, so the app can read your WiFi name.
- Check the WiFi network (tap the refresh icon to pick another), enter the password and tap Start configuring WiFi.
- Wait while the progress circle completes. The camera then appears on the app's home screen, online.
Tap the highlighted option
Didn't work? Reset the camera, delete it from the app if it was half-added (camera ⚙ → delete), move everything within 3 metres and try again, or use the hotspot method on the next page.
Section 5
Connect with the camera's hotspot
- Open iWFCam, tap + and choose Setup device WiFi connection.
- Tap I want to connect my phone to the AP now. Your phone's WiFi settings open.
- Join the network whose name starts with TK. It matches the camera's ID. If you can't see it, press and hold the reset button, wait for the camera to restart, and look again.
- Go back to iWFCam. Check your home WiFi network, enter its password and tap Start configuring WiFi.
- Keep the camera close to the router and wait for the setup to finish.
Join the TK… network
Setup failed? Reset the camera, delete it in the app, then start again. Most failures come from a 5GHz network, a mistyped password, or the camera being too far from the router.
Section 6
The live view
| Control | |
|---|---|
| A | Brightness |
| B | Contrast |
| C | Indicator lights on/off |
| D | Flip horizontal |
| E | Flip vertical, for when the camera is mounted upside down |
| F | Night vision on/off |
| G | Full screen |
| H | Picture quality (HD) |
| I | Sound: listen to the room |
| J | Record video |
| K | Snapshot: save a photo |
Simplified view
The Talkback button belongs to the app and is shared with other cameras. The XCAM Air has a microphone but no speaker, so you can listen to the room but not talk through it.
"No SD card detected" on the live view means there is no microSD card in the camera, or it needs formatting (Recording & storage).
Section 7
Recording & storage
| What | Where it's saved |
|---|---|
| Camera recording to microSD | microSD card in the camera (up to 256GB). Loop recording overwrites the oldest footage when the card is full. |
| Record / Snapshot in the live view | Your phone |
microSD card
- Supports cards up to 256GB. Cards are sold separately.
- As a guide, a 32GB card holds about 4 days of 1080P video.
- Insert the card into the slot on the camera before switching it on.
- If the camera doesn't recognise the card, format it in the app or try a different card.
- Play back and download recordings from the Files tab in iWFCam.
Stop any recording in the app before you switch the camera off. Otherwise the last video file may not be saved, or may be damaged.
No subscription
Recording to the microSD card and to your phone is free. The app may offer a cloud service; it is optional.
Section 8
Night vision, mounting & sharing
Night vision
The Air has infrared night vision for dark rooms. You'll find the night vision button in the live view (The live view).
Mounting
One side of the camera, its base, is magnetic. It holds to its stand and to metal surfaces such as a fridge, a door frame or a shelf bracket, so you can reposition it in seconds. The lens rotates through 180°, so you can aim it without moving the camera. On a stand, use a flat, stable surface.
Share with family
- On the app's home screen, tap Share under the camera. A QR code appears.
- Choose what the other person may do: Allow password changes and Allow setting parameters can each be switched on or off.
- The other person installs iWFCam, taps + and scans the code. The code expires, so share it straight away.
Camera password
If the app says the camera's access password is wrong, reset the camera. The password returns to the default, 8888.
Section 9
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Try this |
|---|---|
| App can't find the camera | Reset the camera, keep phone, router and camera within 3 metres, turn on Bluetooth and location, and allow all app permissions. Or use the hotspot method (Connect with the camera's hotspot). |
| Can't see the TK… network | Press and hold the reset button, wait for the camera to restart, then refresh your phone's WiFi list. |
| Won't join home WiFi | Use a 2.4GHz network and check the password. Move the camera closer to the router. |
| Changed router or WiFi password | Reset the camera, delete it in the app, then set it up again. |
| "Loading" or no picture | Close the app completely and reopen it. |
| Video lags or freezes | Check the WiFi signal where the camera is, and the battery level. |
| microSD card not recognised | Format it in the app, or try another card of 256GB or less. |
| "Wrong password" | Reset the camera. The password returns to 8888. |
| Battery runs down quickly | That is normal for continuous recording: about 2.5 hours of continuous recording. Use USB power for longer sessions. |
| Camera feels warm | Normal during use. It does not affect performance. |

Care & safety
- Charge only with a 5V USB charger. Don't use damaged cables, and don't use a charger that outputs more than 5V.
- For indoor use. Keep the camera away from water, rain, high humidity and direct heat.
- Don't open the camera or try to replace the built-in battery.
- Keep small parts away from young children.
- Recycle the camera and its battery responsibly. Don't put them in household waste.
Using a camera responsibly
Monitoring your own home, property or business is legal in most countries. Recording people where they reasonably expect privacy is not, and audio recording carries extra restrictions in many places. Check the rules where you live before you place the camera, and tell guests, tenants or staff where cameras are in use.
